You Nutgrass

“You nutgrass”: Current development on canvas (it’s cotton, actually, in this case) and the sketch for this work below.

"You Nutgrass" - work in progress
so far, it’s charcoal on canvas (cotton, in this case). adapted primer: transparent acrylic primer (own mixture on basis of Plextol D498), thin and in multiple layers.

Sketch for “You Nutgrass” in higher resolution. Sketch text partly German and English.

The motive is inspired by the “Nussgras”-discussion page on Wikipedia that I found while searching for a nice seed to plant in the nearby mauergarten.

However, “Nussgras” (or nutgrass in English) and the words Kraut/Unkraut (with their full fan of meanings) were playing mainly an inspirational role. From there, the painting developed on it’s own, annotating (in the letters texts on the canvas) to minute 4:21 in the track “The World Coup – THIEFA vs. Brazil [Rap News 26]” and the special role of the BILD (Springer) in this exact context in Germany.
